Filipinas, Relatório de Despejo 2011: O maior número de despejos documentados desde1994

( January 11 2012) O ano de 2011 teve o maior número de casos de despejos documentados desde 1994, de acordo com um estudo dos associados pobres urbanos (UPA), defensor do direito à moradia. De Janeiro a Dezembro de 2011, 14.744 famílias or 73.780 indivíduos foram despejados em 39 incidentes de demolição. 92 por cento dos despejos são considerados ilegais em falta de requerimentos chamados para o desenvolvimento Urbano e lei da habitação. Sete demolições tornaram-se violentas.

This is a life or death situation,” said Saru Magar, a landless squatter, who has been living at Bansighat settlement in the city centre for over 30 years.

WHD, Passeata de Mahim Phatak para Pivla Bunglow em Dharavi (Mumbai, 31 de outubro de 2011) Uma nova aliança de organizações de moradores organizou a Jornada Mundial do Habitat.  Cerca de 500 comunidades de base apresentaram um memorando ao ministro-chefe do Estado exigindo a parada dos Despejos Forçados e a abertura de um diálogo com as Comunidades Locais, ONGs e CBOs para encontrar soluções adequadas para a crise de habitação em Mumbai em plena conformidade com o PIDESC. Para suportar as demandas, foi anunciada a criação da Força Tarefa Unitaria Anti-Despejos envolvendo todas as partes interessadas.
