The World Habitat Days & Zero Eviction Days in Bangladesh

The WAI Bangladesh Committee Meeting (IPD, RHDS, PDAP, PRATTAY, PROSHIKA & Shelter for the Poor), invite all the people to participate to the following activities to observe the World Habitat Days & Zero Eviction Days 2011 in Bangladesh.

The Day will start with a “Human Chain of 500 plus people” (slum dwellers, pavement dwellers, human rights activists, development workers, Teachers, journalists, Lawyers and many other professionals will participate the human chain and rally with colorful banner, festoon, placards etc.) in front of the Bangladesh National Parliament House demanding “No Eviction” , “Safe Shelter for the Homeless Urban Poor”, “Shelter is my Right”, “Resistances and Alternatives for the Right to Habitat”.
A Memorandum will be submitted to the “Honorable Speaker” of the Bangladesh parliament demanding “A National Housing Policy” bill to be passed by the parliament as an urgent basis. A mass Rally is set to take place after the submission of the Memorandum.
An open Invitation letter to be send to all other human rights based local, national and international organizations working in Bangladesh to take part to the WHD 2011 program with WAI-BD.
